Terms of Service

AthenaCover (“AthenaCover,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is an AI tool that generates professional book covers for indie and self-published authors. Our marketing site lives at athenacover.com and the app lives at app.athenacover.com. AthenaCover is an independent product operated by the AthenaCover team.

By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use AthenaCover.

You sign in with Google. When you do, we receive your Google name, email address, and profile photo so we can create and identify your account. You are responsible for keeping access to your Google account secure, and for everything that happens under your AthenaCover account.

You must be old enough to enter into a contract in your country to use AthenaCover. The service is not intended for children. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your information.

You tell us about your book — things like the title, author name, genre, premise or synopsis, and any optional notes. We send those details to third-party AI providers that generate cover images for you. The covers we create for you are saved in your library so you can come back to them.

AI image generation is not perfect. Results vary, and we cannot guarantee that any particular cover will meet your expectations or be suitable for a specific use. Generating covers is the core of what the service does; refining and regenerating may use credits (see below).

New accounts receive 3 free starter credits so you can try AthenaCover before paying anything. Beyond that, you buy credits as a one-time purchase. Today that is a pack of 20 credits for US$9.90. There is no subscription — you are never billed on a recurring basis.

Purchased credits are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. Credits have no cash value and are not redeemable for money. Generating, refining, and regenerating covers spends credits; we’ll show you the cost before you commit a paid action.

Payments are processed by our payment provider, Dodo Payments. We do not see or store your full card details — the processor handles that. Prices and credit pack contents may change over time, but a change will not affect a purchase you have already made.

You own the covers you create. As between you and AthenaCover, you retain the rights to the cover images you generate, and you are free to use them on your books — for example on ebook and print retailers, in marketing, and on your website. We do not claim ownership of your covers or of the book details you provide.

You give us a limited permission to process your inputs and store your generated covers so we can provide the service to you (for example, to keep them in your library and to operate, secure, and improve the product). With your permission, we may show your covers as examples; we will ask first.

AI-generated images are a developing area of law, and the rights available in AI outputs can differ by country. We make no promise about the copyrightability or trademark status of any generated image, and it is your responsibility to make sure your final cover is appropriate for your use.

You are responsible for the book details and any other material you submit, and for the covers you publish. You agree that you have the right to use what you submit and that your use of AthenaCover and of any cover you create will not infringe anyone else’s rights or break the law.

You agree not to use AthenaCover to:

• create content that is illegal, infringing, defamatory, hateful, or sexually exploitative of minors;
• impersonate another person or brand, or pass off someone else’s work as your own;
• attempt to break, overload, scrape, reverse-engineer, or circumvent the limits or security of the service;
• resell or redistribute the service itself, or use it to build a competing cover-generation service.

We may remove content or limit access if we reasonably believe these terms are being broken.

AthenaCover relies on third parties to function — including third-party AI providers that generate images, an authentication provider for sign-in, a payment processor for purchases, an analytics provider, and hosting and content-delivery infrastructure. Your use of the service involves these providers, and their own terms may apply to their part of the service.

We work to keep AthenaCover available and working well, but we provide it on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We may update, change, or discontinue features, and the service may occasionally be unavailable for maintenance or for reasons outside our control.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, AthenaCover is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any generated cover will be accurate, original, or fit for a particular use.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, AthenaCover and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the service.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or US$50. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.

You can stop using AthenaCover at any time and may request deletion of your account (see our Privacy Policy). We may suspend or terminate your access if you break these terms or if we are required to by law. If your account ends, any unused credits are forfeited unless the law requires otherwise.

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date above, and for significant changes we will make a reasonable effort to let you know. Continuing to use AthenaCover after a change means you accept the updated terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be handled by the courts of India, unless the law that protects you as a consumer says otherwise.
